About TownLoop
TownLoop is a shared slideshow for the screens around a town. Each town gets a loop: what is coming up, local news, and who is open, put together by a curator who knows the place. Shops, bars, waiting rooms and lobbies play it on the TVs they already have. Showing it costs nothing. It is not a broadcast or cable channel: it plays in a web browser, on screens inside local businesses.
It is also an advertising system, and we would rather say so plainly. Local businesses and organizations add their own ads, a picture or a short video. On their own screens those play for free. For a monthly price, an ad gets a slot in the town's main loop and plays on every screen in town. That is what pays for the loop.
What it is not: there is no ad network behind it, no bidding, and no tracking of the people watching. Every advertiser is checked before they can post, and a person looks at every ad before it goes on a TV. An ad is on screen because someone in town put it there.
TownLoop is run by JANTOS LLC. Each town's loop names its own curator and sponsors on its page.
